Mica Eggs

WHILE I HAVE A COUPLE INTENSE EGG DECORATING
BLOGS COMING UP, I THOUGHT I'D START WITH A SMALL
ONE ON THE HOMEMADE MICA GLITTER EGGS I DID.

MICA IS ALL OVER THE GROUND AROUND TUCSON
AND WHENEVER I GO HIKING I BRING A BAGGIE WITH ME .
I'VE ALSO GOTTEN MICA FROM OTHERS WHO'VE HIKED
AND KNOW THAT I COLLECT THE STUFF.

I THINK A MORTAR AND PESTLE WOULD WORK
BETTER THAN MY HAND CRUNCHING METHOD.
THE EDGE OF THE BOWL HAS ALL THE SUPER FINE
PIECES WHICH MANY MAKEUP COMPANIES USE
IN EYESHADOWS ETC FOR SHIMMER .
(CHECK THE INGREDIENTS!!  IT'S THERE!!!)

THE RESULT IS A TRANSLUCENT SILVERY
SPARKLE .  ALMOST FOIL LIKE .

IT TURNS OUT VERY PRETTY.
BEST SEEN IN PERSON OF COURSE .

I DECORATE AND HAVE SO MANY EGGS THAT I RARELY
KEEP THEM FOR MYSELF, EVEN IF THEY ARE SPECTACULAR .
I DID HOWEVER KEEP ONE OF THE MICA EGGS AND ADDED
IT TO MY PERSONAL COLLECTION OF CUPPED EGGS .
MICA GLITTER IS MY NEW FAVORITE THING.
