Lego Man Costume

FOR HALLOWEEN THIS YEAR I WAS GOING TO GO
AS A BOX OF SALT TO ERNIE'S SNAIL BUT I CHANGED
MY MIND AT THE LAST MINUTE AND DECIDED TO PAIR
UP WITH GALEN INSTEAD.  HE HAD GRAND IDEAS....
THE ORIGINAL IDEA SKETCH

WE MADE THE HEADS OUT OF TWO DOLLAR STORE
LAUNDRY BASKETS (PER HEAD) AND THICK PAPER .  THE
TOP IS A PVC CIRCLE WE  FOUND AT HOME DEPOT AND
GLUED ON.  LOTS OF YELLOW DUCT TAPE AND SPRAY PAINT.

READY FOR FACES!!!

WE STARTED BY FREEHAND DRAWING THE
FACES BUT EVENTUALLY WENT TO TRACING
THEM OFF OF A PRINTED OUT VERSION.

WE DECIDED THE STANDARD SMILEY DIDN'T HAVE
ENOUGH BLACK TO SEE OUT OF WELL ENOUGH.

LOOKING GOOD, BUT WE WANTED THEM PERFECT.

 NEXT WE DID THE HANDS-
ALSO MADE OUT OF PVC AND YELLOW PAINT.

GALEN DEFINITELY SPEARHEADED THIS PART OF
THE OPERATION.  PERLANA AND POWER SAWS...
I THINK I CAN END THAT SENTENCE THERE.

ALL THE ELEMENTS COMING TOGETHER.

GLORY!!!  AND NOW THE FASHION SHOOT-

WE ARE GONNA GO OUT TONIGHT AND SEE IF
WE CAN'T WIN A COSTUME CONTEST OR TWO.
I'LL KEEP YOU POSTED.

  1. Do you have a pic of the laundry baskets you used before? We're trying to recreate this but we need more info!
